Are you a working mother who…

Ä     Is overwhelmed and stressed out

Ä     Has the market cornered on guilt

Ä     Thinks having a rewarding family life AND a

      successful career is impossible?

Ä     Never has time to take care of your own needs

Ä     Has ever wished that working mothers were privy to a set of instructions that would make life easier?

Life doesn’t have to be so difficult!

Believe me, I know what you’re going through - I’ve been there myself.  Five years ago, I was a single working mother of two boys and I was exhausted.  I was always in a hurry, running from school to school and then to work where I was the last one in the office and the first to leave each day.  As if that wasn’t enough, it seemed like every other week one of my sons was sick.  I would either have to leave work early for a doctor’s appointment or work from home if he was too sick for school.

My career was growing – more responsibility, more money, greater titles – but I was burnt out.  And even though my job was in talent management, I had no plan for advancing my own career and towards the end no time or real desire to do anything about it.  I had relied on luck to get ahead but that ride is short and inconsistent.  If you have ever had to rely on one salary to pay the bills, you know how important it is to continue growing – professionally and financially.

As far as being a mom, I usually felt like a failure.  I was the parent all teachers dread.  They could never pin me down for volunteer work or at the very least to return papers on time.  My kids ate at least one meal a day in the car and were constantly being shuffled from one place to another.  Once, I even hired a babysitter to come over at 5 a.m. to get them up and to school so I could catch an early flight for a nine o’clock meeting in another state.

The guilt was really beginning to get to me.  I felt guilty if I put my work ahead of my kids and I felt guilty if I put my kids ahead of my employer.  The only time I didn't feel guilty was when I put my kids and my work over my own needs.  So that's what I did - I took care of everyone else's need but my own.  In part, because I felt that's what I was supposed to do and also because by the time I took care of everyone else, I had nothing left to give to myself.

My life had spun out of control and I was no longer the director.  It was as if it was being dictated by someone I had never met – you must do this, this, this, and this and then you must get up and do it all over again the next day.  I’d had enough but I didn’t know what to do.

As luck would have it, my department was facing another restructuring – someone from the team was going to get the ax.  I quietly raised my hand and one December morning, my wish came true.  I got a severance package.  I was free!  I had no plan, but I did have six months of pay and a savings account to live off until I figured one out.  It remains one of the best days of my life.

For the first few months, I tried on the “stay-at-home mom” role.  It didn’t take too long before it got old; I wanted to work and no PTA committee in the world could fulfill that need.  But I didn’t want to work the way I had – there was no going back to my previous routine – and at the time, I didn’t know how to make it work.

So instead of looking for a new job, I bought books on starting a business.  After a lot of time, research and several serendipitous events, I decided to pursue career coaching, specializing in corporate advancement.  It drew on my professional experience and it combined the aspects I most enjoyed in my career with the freedom of working for myself.  I was finally excited!

Unfortunately, it wasn’t as simple as I thought.  I was still a working mom even though my office was at home.  Honestly, not much had changed, but I knew I had to be successful.  I wasn’t cut out to be fulltime, stay-at-home mom, and I couldn’t go back to the corporate world.  I loved my work and I truly believed in what I was doing.

I had to regain control of my life.  I wanted to be the mom my kids deserved.  I wanted to enjoy my life.  I knew I had to figure out how to make that happen.  It started as a process of trial and error.  I read books, attended teleseminars, and implemented as many practices as I could, all while I continued to work on my business.  Unfortunately, most of these quick-fix ideas amounted to nothing more than putting a band-aid over a gaping wound.  Although many people claimed to have the answer, I couldn’t put my hands on anything solid to help me gain control over a chaotic situation and still be able to focus on my career and family without sacrificing either.  Eventually, I figured out how that it wasn't my situation that was causing me so much stress, it was my habits, my expectations, and my thinking.  And I was going to be stuck in a life that was wearing me out until I could take those steps to have the life I really wanted.  Little by little, I began making changes and implementing new practices into my daily routine and found that they really worked!

Today – Life is much different than it was

just a few short years ago.

The guilt is GONE, my stress level has decreased significantly, and my income continues to grow doing work that I LOVE. With all of these changes, I can finally be the mother my (now) three boys deserve plus I have the career that I deserve (yes, I'm taking care of me - and everyone benefits from it).  I continue to implement these same steps so I can focus on those things that are most important to me.  Like spending my weekends enjoying activities with my husband, sons, and friends, volunteering at school, watching Little League games, and taking my three year old to swim class twice a week.  I do this without sacrificing my career.  I continue to grow, professionally and financially, which allows me to give my kids everything they need plus a lot of the things they want (but not everything…I don’t want them to be spoiled!).  And I'm not done, yet.  I have a long-term plan to keep reaching for those personal, professional, and financial goals that I haven't yet attained.

So, how did I transform my life from chaos to calm?  It turns out that in coaching others, I figured out how to coach myself to have it all – it’s not impossible!  Even if you didn’t go to coach training, you can still do it.  I’ve laid it all out in a step-by-step process that couldn’t be easier.  But before I tell you what those steps are, let me tell you what this program is not.

This is not a promise for perfection.  As my good friend said to me, balance is a myth.  Occasionally compromise will be necessary when you have to choose between two priorities.  But you will have the tools to make a decision quickly, effortlessly, and without regret.  Let’s face it, life isn’t perfect and it certainly isn’t easy.  What fun would it be if it was?

You can have it all, too!

“The Working Mother’s Solution to having it ALL”

will show you how.

All you need is a solid plan that meets your personal, family, and professional needs; tips and techniques that really work; and a lot of support.  I’ve done it all – working mom, stay-at-home mom, and self-employed mom and all are equally difficult in their own way.  Regardless of what anyone tells you, there is no such thing as “one right way” because everyone’s lives and needs are different.  Even though the steps that you take to reach your decisions, create your plan, and hold it all together are the same, every one who goes through this process will have a completely unique plan.

Who will be successful?  Anyone who answers 'yes' to at least one question below:

Ä     Working mothers who are ready for a change.

Ä     Ambitious working mothers who will never be satisfied with anything less than a successful career and a rewarding family life.

Ä     Working mothers who don’t believe in settling – EVER.

Ä     Mothers who need to work – because they need the income, they need to fulfill their desire to work, and/or they feel the need to provide a better life for their children than is possible on one income.

Ä     Working mothers who understand that their career is the vehicle for achieving many of their personal and family goals.

This proven, ten-step process will give you control

over the chaos in your life so you can focus on advancing

your career and enjoying your family.

The Working Mother’s Solution to having it ALL is a comprehensive program comprised of a series of ten steps, complete with exercises, tips, and action steps.

1.    Establishing Your Priorities.  What comes first, right now?  How do you know where to focus your attention if you don’t know what is most important?

2.    Fitting it all In – Time for Family, Career, and YOU.  Find time for your priorities – without sacrificing.

3.    Organizing to get the most out of life and the time we have.  This is one of the biggest causes of stress.  A simple system for managing the paperwork and tracking everything from business meetings to science project due dates will quickly eliminate unnecessary stress.

4.    Career Check-up.  Will your current path lead you to success?

5.    Defining Your Personal Goals.  How will you know what direction to go in if you haven’t established solid goals?  You’ll quickly wear yourself out running in circles.  What are your personal goals?  What are your goals for your whole family and each individual child?

6.    Defining Your Financial Goals.  When structured properly, your financial goals will allow you to achieve your personal goals.

7.    Defining Your Professional Goals.  Your career is the vehicle that will drive you towards your financial and personal goals.

8.    Addressing Obstacles to Success.  Mothers are amazing and can overcome insurmountable obstacles with the right tools and support.

9.    Strategic Planning.  A comprehensive plan to achieve your goals will keep you focused and on the right track.

10.    Keeping It All Together.  Stay motivated to achieve your goals, readjust but never give up.

Congratulations…Once you have done this,

you’re on your way to living your ideal life!

Are you ready to see a different outcome?  Then it’s time to take a different approach.  What results can you expect from this program?

Ä     Less stress, more peace

Ä     Less guilt, confidence that you are doing what is best for you and your family

Ä     A rewarding career that you fulfills your professional aspirations

Ä     Permission and a plan to put yourself first (at least every once in a while) so you can be on top of your game and take care of your other priorities

Ä     A role model for your children - a mother who is living the values she wants to pass down to her children instead of an overworked, stress-out mom who tries to do everything – even though she can’t

Ä     Goals that are closely aligned with your family values and needs

Ä     Empowerment - a comprehensive (and feasible) plan to achieve your personal, professional and financial goals

Ä     Shift in focus; from what has to be done (chaos) to how you choose to spend your time (control)

How soon will you start to see results?  Immediately.  In the first step, you will start to shift how you think, what you expect and how you make decisions.  Each step builds on another, creating more changes, reducing your stress, eliminating your guilt and giving you more control.

Ok, I’m ready to do this – for myself and my family.

What are my options?

Individual Coaching

This option is best for the working mother who wants individual attention to reach her goals, as quickly as possible. You get time to brainstorm, collaborate, and strategize; access to a partner whose sole purpose is to help you achieve success and who knows what you're going through; dedicated time each week to focus solely on you and your needs; and time to discuss and produce solutions to the problems you experience.  Plus you get access to all of my own tools, exercises, resources and more.

Still not sure?  Give it a shot and see how it goes.  If at any time, you aren’t seeing the results you want, and you are doing the work, tell me.  I’ll help you determine the hold up and get you back on track or we will part ways and I will refund you for any unused sessions.   What have you got to lose?  It's time to invest in yourself - now!

P.S.  What is the one thing you want most for your kids?  As mothers, we want to give our kids the world.  It's deeply embedded into our DNA - nothing will change that.  We also want them to enjoy being kids, and we want to experience that joy first hand.  When you can barely keep your head above water, it's hard to give your kids the childhood they deserve.  It's time for a change.  Get Started!
