“At Last…Only 8 Simple Steps to Your Next Promotion”

Are you ready for more money, more responsibilities, and more influence?

Do you want to finally be rewarded for all of your hard work?

Have you been passed up for promotions even though you are a good employee?

I know how frustrating it can be to work your way up the corporate ladder.  You are ambitious and you want to get ahead, but you’re probably not sure which steps will take you to the next level, get the attention of upper management, and make you a shoo in for a promotion.  Besides, shouldn’t your performance speak for itself?

You are working your butt off and making (or saving) your employer a lot of money.

You are doing all the things that a “good” employee does.

But there is something you’ve overlooked…

Your Own Needs!!!

You see, you can be a good employee – a solid performer – and you may be rewarded with above average raises each year.

But, if you don’t take control of your career, you won’t go very far.

I’ve seen it over and over.  Good employees who get so caught up in the day to day tasks of their job, while their own career takes a back seat.

Unfortunately, if you aren’t proactively managing your career, you’ll become stationary.

Promotions = More Money

There are three basic ways to make more money in the corporate world: annual raises, promotions, and bonuses/commissions.  For most professionals, an annual increase is barely noticeable in your paycheck.  These days, it probably won’t even cover the extra money you’re shelling out at the pump.

Bonuses and commissions are typically based on your performance and can be very lucrative.  The problem is that most employees aren’t eligible to receive this added income as it’s often reserved for high level or sales executives.

The best solution is a promotion - climbing the corporate ladder is the best way to increase your salary.

Taking Initiative Takes You a Step Above the Crowd

Most candidates for a promotion fall into one of three categories.  The first is the candidate who feels entitled to a promotion, not necessarily because they deserve it but because they “have put in their time.”

The second type of candidate feels that they should be promoted based on their achievements alone.  These candidates are usually solid performers but lack much forethought.

The third type of candidate for a promotion is ambitious and prepared.  They know EXACTLY what it takes to make it.  They are decisive and confident in their ability to succeed.

If you were the decision maker, who would you promote?

What’s the Hang Up?

It seems like a lot of work to fall into the third category.  Who has that kind of time?  To be honest, it’s not that much work at all – if you know what you are doing.

Are you getting hung up on career planning because you don’t know where to focus your attention and think it requires a big time commitment?

Are you suffering from “I don’t know what to do, so I don’t do anything at all?”

Do you think that being a good employee should be enough?

If so, you are not alone.  Most employees fall into the first two categories.  There are only a handful of employees who are both ambitious and prepared.  Employers would move mountains to find more of them because they know that having a pipeline of future leaders is, hands down, the most cost effective recruiting strategy.

Even with this knowledge, only a relatively small percentage of organizations offer their employees assistance with career advancement – leaving you to figure it out for yourself.

The Payoff is HUGE

This is one of those times when good isn’t good enough.  I’ve been a part of hundreds of selection meetings and was usually the one to deliver bad news to the candidates who were passed up for a promotion.  I’ve seen the shock on their faces and heard the disbelief in their voices.

Why wasn’t I promoted?  Ninety-nine percent of the time, the answer was the same.   We promoted the most qualified person.

In these selection meetings, we would compare the candidates experience, education, and performance.  Often, there was little difference.  We had to select the candidate who would get the best results.

Several years ago, I was part of a team that was responsible for assembling a management team for a new market our company was entering.  Because these were newly created positions, internal candidates had to apply for the job they wanted.  There was one decision that was particularly difficult to make.

Although there were several candidates for this position, only two were real contenders.  The first candidate was doing the same job in another market, and getting good results.  The other candidate was in a role as a producer rather than a leader, so it would have been a promotion.

On paper, there was a clear frontrunner.  But the dynamics of the job presented us with a challenge.  We needed someone who could make a real impact in a relatively short amount of time.  The candidate who was in a similar role was a strong performer and an asset to the organization.  But the candidate who was vying for a promotion possessed qualities the other didn’t.  He was ambitious and results oriented – exactly what we needed.  He had the forethought to develop and execute a comprehensive career plan so that he was ready to take on a new challenge.  He was rewarded with a promotion.

Getting by on your track record will only take you so far.  Eventually, you will hit a ceiling and you won’t be able to go farther without taking proactive measures.  Promoting someone is a business decision.  Politics aside, the person selected should incur the least amount of risk for the organization and have the greatest potential.

Have you demonstrated that you are a risk worth taking?

Are you FINALLY Ready to be

Rewarded for All of Your Hard Work?

Several months ago, I surveyed my Ezine readers.  I asked them list their advancement challenges.  The overwhelming response was “not knowing where to focus my attention.”

As “The Promotion Coach,” I address this issue with my private coaching clients and I also offer tips and advice in my Ezine articles (if you aren't receiving my Ezine "Launch Your Career" yet, click here - you'll also get my FREE Special Report: 7 Unintentional Actions That Can Slow Your Climb up the Corporate Ladder.")

But, I realized that not everyone can invest in private coaching.  It’s a catch 22 – like needing leadership experience when no one will give you the chance to be a leader.  Even though it’s an investment that will pay off when you get promoted, you may not be able to afford coaching until you get a raise.

I also realized that no one has put it all together, in a simple, step-by-step process.

So, I did it for you!

What’s All This Information Worth to You?

Just a one-hour, stand alone consultation with me would run you a cool $250.  And there is no way we could cover all of the information and exercises I’ve included in this workbook.  Even if I did all of the talking and you did the exercises on your own time, it would take at least four sessions to get through each of the 8 steps.  That would cost you $1000 – and even then, it would be worth it.  If the average promotional increase is 10 -15%, think about how big your raise will be.  Pretty good return on investment, right?

But because I want this information to be easy to access and easy to afford, I've packaged it in a digital version for only $39 USD, for a limited time. This way you have no excuse not to get moving up the proverbial corporate ladder!

There’s more.

Do you ever buy books that you just know are the answer you’ve been looking for only to find that it leaves you with more questions than before you started?  I don’t want you to just buy this workbook; I want you to use it to achieve all of your professional goals.

I am including a 15-minute laser coaching call with me (a $60 value).  As you go through the workbook, write down any questions you have.  Then send me an email and we’ll schedule our phone session to get you on the track to success.

So, are you ready?  Stop struggling to get ahead when planning is so easy!

“YES, Jill – I’d like to learn the fastest, easiest, and most effective way to go from cubicle to corner office!”

I understand that for only $39, I'll not only get a downloadable workbook, complete with tips, exercises and examples, but I'll also get a 15-minute laser coaching call with you.

I'll have access to the information I need to get started right away, within minutes.
