Career Transitions
Does the thought of going to work each day make you want to get back in bed and pull the covers over your head?
Are you ready to make a career change but unsure of what job will provide you with the satisfaction you want and the salary you need?
Do you feel like your online applications are floating in cyber-space, never to be seen by a real, live recruiter?
Have you ever walked into an interview excited about the opportunity and walked out feeling woefully unprepared?
Making a career transition can be intimidating. In fact, it’s almost as intimidating as facing a job you don’t like each and every day. Most of us have either personally experienced or heard of someone who has spent months, unsuccessfully trying to make a career change.
Every day, thousands of people apply for jobs online and wait for a recruiter to call and schedule an interview. Most of the time, that call never comes. Recruiters are so inundated with resumes and applications from unqualified candidates that they rarely spend more than thirty seconds reviewing each one. What are the chances that your resume will stand out from the rest and make it to the top of the pile?
You can make a smooth career transition and it doesn’t have to be frustrating if you have the right approach.
Before you can put the mechanics of a job search process into place, you have to know what you want to do and what unique value you can offer a prospective employer. Then you have to take ACTION.
